A seven day 'Summer Orientation Programme' organised at KCW

Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar organized a Seven day 'Summer Orientation Programme' for the new entrants. KCCS Honorary Secretary S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina sent his best wishes on the successful completion of the camp which was a combination of basic theoretical & practical knowledge covering varied topics like – Importance of Language, Painting, Stitching & Tailoring, Community Services, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Importance of Nutritious and Balance Diet, Games and Sports etc. "Such programmes encourage the students by enhancing and polishing their academic skills. It helps them refurnish their knowledge bank and bring out their self-confidence for facing the plethora of challenges in their lives", said he. 

The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Manpreet Kaur who while addressing the participants said that such training programmes should be a mandatory part of academic curriculum as suggested recently by GNDU VC Dr. Jaspal Singh. She cited the examples of various universities abroad which are focusing on practical exposure as she applauded the efforts of the department for this initiative. She, in her valedictory speech said that this camp was organized for the new entrants with the aim of familiarizing them to the college and providing them valuable information. She congratulated the students on the successful completion of the course and wished best of luck for the coming session. 

Experts from different fields were invited to interact with the students. The programme successfully concluded on Saturday. The college proposes to conduct more such camps and workshops to boost the morale and confidence of the students.
