With Education Women Can Change the World for Better: RMS Chhina

 More than 532 Students Awarded Degrees at KCW Convocation

 Amritsar, April 3 This is an era of women empowerment and by gaining education the women can change the world for the better. They get aware about their rights and by earning livelihood of their own they can find respect and honour in the society.
            This was stated by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina during his highly motivational convocational address while distributing degrees to 532 graduate and post-graduate girl students at Khalsa College for Women (KCW), here today.
            Giving a historical account of various aspects of the women's emancipation, he said women are the foundation of any nation and once they are educated they take the society to newer heights. “As you have gained education today, you have empowered yourself and your families and finally the nation. Your contributions to the society would be much more now”, he said while congratulating the students on getting degrees.
            In an emotional appeal while giving examples of successful women, he stressed on setting up the goals and achieving their dreams without fear of failures. “The failures are nothing but earning experiences which coax us to improve more”, he said.
            Chhina also stressed on the dire need to introduce a skill development curriculum to make the students professional and employable as per demands of modern job markets. The students wearing the ceremonial gowns took the degrees while the meritorious ones were also bestowed with the awards and honours.
            'Sagacity: Researchers Perspective 2022’, a book was released at the occasion. Dr. Ritu Dhawan, from Commerce Department was awarded the Best Researcher’s Award and given a citation and Rs. One lakh for undertaking research in her subject.
            Earlier, while welcoming the guests, KCW Principal Dr. Surinder Kaur read the progress report of the College, citing the achievements by students in academics, cultural activities and sports. She said that under the guidance of management, the College has progressed leaps and bounds. She also congratulated the students who got degrees.
            KCGC Joint Secretary SS Mannan, Members SS Sethi, Sarbjit Singh, Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Surinder Pal Kaur Dhillon, Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, Dr.Kanwaljit Singh, Nanak Singh, and others were present.
